10th. February Professor Golding

Our presenter will be the Honorary Professor Barry Golding AM with the topic “Some disturbing home truths: the first five years in southern Dja Dja Wurrung country, 1838 – 1843”. Barry has worked as a vocational, adult and community education researcher with the School Education, Federation University in Ballarat, with a special interest in indigenous vocational education and first nation’s history and culture. His talk will be about the Dja Dja Wurrung nation, their country in central Victoria and the devastating impacts of European colonisation on their ancient culture, their natural places and the resources which supported them.
 
On Friday 17th February Barry will also lead a field excursion to the former Franklinford Aboriginal Protectorate. There are still places available to enrol into Course 23EXC03 – cost $10.
